You're Tearin' Me Apart

I enjoy old movies, and I am constantly hearing tidbits
of trivia that put a previously unseen movie on my
must-see list. One movie that had always been mentioned
to me as being a revolutionary film was REBEL
WITHOUT A CAUSE.
I recognized the importance of this new characterization
of the teenager (a new social invention in the fifties),
but I also had a tremendous feeling of deja vu.
This movie was groundbreaking, but the genre
for which it laid foundation has become a cinematic
MALL OF AMERICA. In short, I had seen this movie in
dozens of forms by the time I got around to seeing
the genuine article.
All that to say, this picture always reminds me of
James Dean. Okay, Bye!
