I still do not fully understand the growing
appeal of fetish art. I understand the psychology
behind sadism, masochism, and bondage, but I don't
understand how the depiction of these "vices" appeal to
such a wide range of viewers. I don't believe that so many
people have genuine bondage colors on their Freudian
palatte.
Perhaps it is simply backlash against this weeks version
of post-sexual -revolution Victorianism. They say,
"Here is my boring, conservative life. I want to occasionally
go and drink from the well of the farthest opposite available."
Fetishism is the most visible and obvious target. It is
the new trashiness.
