Personal Ritual

Ceremony often loses meaning. Just ask the
high school or college band director as she drags through
85 repeats through "Pomp and Circumstance" at graduation.
Ask the Judge who performs as many weddings as he
hears divorce cases in a given week. Even in the scriptures,
it is said that while David's Tabernacle was in
full operation, with 24 hour animal sacrifice,
the Ark of the Covenant, and the purported actual
presence of God, the ancient Tabernacle of Moses
was also in operation, burning candles, and practicing dry
ritual just 200 miles away.
The absence of life is sometimes called death.
