Edvard's Maiden
This gallery features two works inspired by Munch.
I am particularly impressed with his ability to convey
isolation and loneliness, even in social situations. In "Puberty"
the social context is implied. The second person in the scene is
the viewer. As we invade the chamber, the young girl is
horrified and defensive, the scene stark and nearly as bare as
the girl. My homage to Munch's haunting work does not
begin to scratch the surface of his timeless themes.
