Subterra

I grew up in South Louisiana where the water table is so high that

cemetaries are frequently above ground and cellars and basements are

unheard of. Because of this, basements have always been visually intriguing

to me. From the "Michigan Basement" with it's cast concrete ledge

surrounding the supporting walls, to the sterile, utilitarian basements of

institutional spaces, I am filled with a sense of mystery and secrecy.
